I haven't been thrift store shopping in the last couple of weeks. Probably a good thing, since I've been reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing and setting goals for myself in terms of purging excess stuff from the house. I'll be posting about that in future. Maybe if I tell you guys I'll actually stay on track!
In the meantime, on with the Vintage Bliss Tuesdays party! I am sharing a look at a strange and essentially useless (but kind of cool) item that we have in our house - this vintage Primus blow torch, made in Sweden by BA Hjorth & Co.
This one belongs to my husband and it just kind of sits in the basement wherever we have room for it. I can't even imagine using this thing. Actually, I can imagine spills, flames, accidents and burns. But that's just me. As my friend (a psychologist) once told me, I tend to "catastrophize."
There's more about the Primus brand of lamps and stoves here if you're interested.
Do you have any strange objects in your vintage collections?

Thank you Joann for Vintage Bliss 31. I have a similar style of blow torch that belonged to my Dad. I would never want to try to use it.

If you want to start another collection there is one in the barn. Dad ays it's not as old as the one pictured, but I would say over fifty years. You could use it instead of the broiler. lol
ReplyDeleteIt looks interesting ,cool stuff :)
ReplyDeletelovely Greetings <3
I think your blow torch is very cool. I can't imagine putting it anywhere in my house, but it is still very cool. Thanks for hosting the party again.
ReplyDeleteI think it would look great as an accent on a bookshelf, etc. as long as there is no fuel in it!
ReplyDeletepretty sure I'd be catastrophizing to! it's cool to look at but I do not want to see it working--good luck on the downsizing, I'll be cheering you on!
