Pixie Mood Vegan Leather Handbags (GIVEAWAY - closed)


I spotted an enticing booth at the Toronto Vegetarian Food Festival last year. It housed the tempting wares of Pixie Mood, "The Cruelty-Free Handbags & Accessories Company." This Canadian company sells designer vegan handbags (purses), clutches, wallets and toiletry cases, all made with animal-friendly materials such as cork, cotton, canvas, faux suede and vegan leather. And Pixie Mood bags are all pretty darn cute too.


From the stylish array of Pixie Mood purses, I chose the Steph Bag in teal. I love the combo of teal and orange. It has a nice vintage vibe, don't ya think? I also covet this purse - the Steph Bag Tricolor. I love the handles on my purse, but I'm also glad that it came with a long, adjustable shoulder strap for those times when my hands are full.


My Pixie Mood Steph Bag seems durable, which is good, because stuff takes a beating in this family. Pixie Mood uses vegan leather called Polyurethane (PU-leather), which they say is different from lower grade synthetic leathers such as vinyl or PVC. It has less of an impact on the planet, is softer and doesn't crack in harsh winter weather. (But let's not think about winter, okay?)


Check out the gorgeous purple lining in my Pixie Mood purse. I love fun touches like that. There are plenty of pockets and zippered compartments for all the stuff that we carry too, with designated pockets for accessories (like your trusty cellphone).

Pixie Mood was created by Kelvin and Chloe, both of whom worked 9 to 5 jobs at IBM Canada before starting the company. Chloe loves fashion, shoes, jewellery and, of course, handbags. Her love for art, colour and textiles led her to pursue her dream of creating her own accessories brand. Kelvin, a graduate of Ryerson University's Business Management program, dreamed of being an entrepreneur. Together, the couple has turned their dreams into reality with Pixie Mood bags.

    My favorite bag is actually the one you have. I love the colors in your Steph bag. The web site did not show the Steph bag in your color combination. So, my second favorite bag is the Natalie bag in sky blue. I love the sequins!!
