Every day look at a beautiful picture, read a beautiful poem, listen to some beautiful music, and if possible, say some reasonable thing. -Goethe
In this moment, I'm thinking of these plans for enjoying a perfectly beautiful spring (summer-like) day:
Reading (with the kids) - The Curse of the Viking Grave by Farley Mowat, the Canadian author and environmentalist, who died on May 6th at the age of 92. My husband and I met him in 1994 when he spoke at hubby's graduation from McMaster University. He and his wife (and I and my husband) were the first people to the food table at the reception. I love people who love food.
Eating - a frozen So Delicious Coconut Almond Mini - perfect for a beautiful, warm day like this one!
Appreciating - that very same beautiful, warm day. Dinner on the deck perhaps?
Planning - a summer trip to New York City. I found this New York Journal (above) at Homesense and figured it would be a great way to record our trip memories. If you have any New York tips, please share 'em. We haven't been there since before we had kids. Now the kids are coming with.
Happy Memorial Day to my U.S. friends! What are you planning and enjoying today?
Ooooh so jealous about New York-- we used to go up all the time for speaking engagements. Its a gorgeous city, you'll have a blast and a half for sure! Can't wait to live vicariously through your pic lol!
ReplyDeleteYou should meet us in New York! Then you won't have to live vicariously through my pics. ;) But, just in case, I will take lots of photos. :)
DeleteThat's a fun trip to look forward to!!
ReplyDeleteWe have had some beautiful days here too - let's just hope it stays around!!!
Yes, Jill, I'm really excited about the trip.
DeleteThe weather here is so changeable. We were at soccer tonight and it was beautiful, then the GIANT mosquitos started and then it started to rain. I have to pack all sorts of stuff for soccer to cover all weather.
My sister went to NY a few years ago and she (and my brother in law) loved the High Line park. They went a few times because they liked it so much.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know about the High Line park. Looks cool. Thanks for the tip! :)
DeleteA trip to New York would be awesome! Did you end up having dinner on the deck?
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid we didn't. We ended up eating a quick light dinner and going off to my son's soccer game. In any case, we sat out in the sun for the game. Until the mosquitos and the rain started. :)
DeleteVery cool that you got to meet Farley Mowat! I like people who like food too ;p
ReplyDeleteWasn't About Time super cute? I wasn't expecting much out of it, but really liked it too.
New York? How fun! Can't wait to hear about it =)
Yes, I have a photo of my husband with him, but my husband's eyes are closed. ;) About Time was super cute. I just love the setting too. There will be lots of New York pics. Lots. ;)
