Thrifty Finds

Up until this past Saturday, it had been many weeks since I thrifted any dishes. For good reason. I don't have any more room to store them! However I am growing tired of our regular dishes so I decided to supplement them with these pretty blue pieces I spotted at the Salvation Army.

I also picked up a pretty green jug. Because you can always squeeze in another jug, right? I proudly told my husband, "I love these little thrifted jugs." "Me too," he said, sarcastic of course.

These small blue side plates with the pretty heart pattern will be just the thing for little snacks and desserts.

These Ikea bowls will cheer up a soup, stew or pasta dish nicely, I think.

Have you been thrifting lately?

  3. great finds! I often get tired of our crockery. The latest thing I bought was the vintage Mastermind game and before that, some ice cube trays in animal and fruit shapes. Yesterday I visited a friend who is moving and went through her stash of things she is getting rid of. I got quite a few board games and books :D

  4. It's always good to have a change, your new dishes are very pretty!

I haven't thrifted a thing in nearly a month, I like you have not much more space and it helps that I haven't seen a thing I would want to buy anyway!

  7. I firmly believe that you can never have too much green pottery! Your husband's response cracked me up, though. ;) I love it all...I'm having a major blue and white phase right now, so I'm envious of your finds.

  8. Love that jug! I am the world's worst thrifter...and I think a pretty decent contributor TO the thrift store in fact. I will only deal with a few sets of dishes at a time so whenever I make a change, I donate my old ones to friends or the Salvation Army. I do collect Pyrex though and I'm powerless to resist it when I spot a good price :)

    Always love seeing your finds.

  9. Loving that jug! The colours are amazing. I totally agree that you can never have too many jugs. Im thinking it would look great with some spring flowers....if we ever see spring that is.

  10. Hi Jo, haven't been over here for ages! Love your thrift store finds, especially the green glaze on that jug. I have the same trouble with lack of space, but oddly enough I too posted about my weekend visit to a thrift store where I bought just two! items. I loved the Science Centre post too ... so funny with the kids firing paper airplanes at unsuspecting people below. No more complaining about winter now, it's going to be PLUS 4 tomorrow!! I should go now, I have to root out my flip flops ;) Wendy x
