I am still resisting any further thrift store shopping at the moment. In order to feel that I'm getting my fix, I have been shifting items around in my house to make new vignettes, like the one I showed you last week.
Today's vignette is, like last week's, a combination of sentimental items, newish items and thrifty things. The mixed media artwork ("I Need You") that sits on top of our bedroom dresser was a wedding gift from artsy friends. The tall candle holder and the small pottery vase are thrifted finds. The hurricane lamp was a gift from friends. My husband made the clay mask one time while sitting on the beach.
I'm still playing with this vignette. I might like to add some colour and find some way of standing the mask up a bit. What do you think? Any advice?

Oh it looks so lovely & sophisticated-- perfect combo of artistic styles!
ReplyDeleteThanks Taby. You are so nice to me. :)

Thank you Miss Bex! :)
DeleteYou have the best taste! I love the smallness of the scene your husband brought you, too. I also love how you work with colors and tones. I'm digging that thrifted candle holder, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy. That's sweet of you to say. :)
DeleteI like the candle holder too. It's funny, I wasn't sure about it at first, but it's grown on me!
Looks very pretty! A pop of turquoise or red in there would be nice, but I like the muted palette, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ruthie. Turquoise or red WOULD be nice. I'll have to have a little look around. :)
DeleteI know how it is to make yourself stay out of the thrift stores! I fell off the wagon this week though! I love that small pottery vase and the mask your husband made. Nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanne.
DeleteYou certainly did fall off the wagon. ;) But you got great stuff. :)
What a lovely collection - I particularly like the hurricane lamp.
