The Weekend
This weekend was mainly consumed by my son's soccer tournament. I have no thrifty finds today and I haven't prepared a menu plan for the week. We did, however, fit in a quick trip to the mall on Saturday morning and a lovely visit to my husband's cousin's house last night.
Their home is in the country - a nice change of scenery for us. The adults enjoyed drinks and dinner on the patio while the little ones kept busy playing on the expansive property.
They bounced water balloons off of each other.
And just bounced.
My son had a blast riding this cool bike. He stayed overnight and will come home today likely asking to move to the country. He also wants a pool, a trampoline and a hammock.
My nieces and my little girl practicing their "straight faces."
The perfect way to end a country evening? A bonfire of course. That kept up until the mosquitoes attacked. And I do mean attacked. When the horse and the mule started freaking out, the gang went over to see why and found out it was likely the mosquitoes. I think the mosquitoes then followed people back to the fire!
Oh, can you see my husband (in red) on the trampoline? That was post-coffee. He's not used to caffeine.
How was your weekend? Do anything fun?

Thank you. That's so sweet of you. :)
DeleteLooks like a wondrous weekend. Mosquitos and all (and yes, I do believe they find and follow us! We are haunted by them here too).
ReplyDeleteOf all the things your son could yearn for, a hammock, trampoline, and an address in the country aren't too bad. They speak well of his good taste. (=
Your children are beautiful. There's a family resemblance between yours and their cousins...
Yes, I want the hammock and the country property too! ;)
DeleteThanks...I think they look a bit like their cousins too. :)
Sweet family photos - love those action shots! I really love the photo of your daughter with her cousins - that would make a great black and white! The home is lovely and a bonfire looks like fun. Mosquitoes ruin all the fun, don't they? xo
ReplyDeleteI really should print photos now and then! ;)
DeleteMosquitoes can indeed be annoying. We certainly left that bonfire pretty quick.
I love visits like that (without mosquitoes of course!) No menu plan here either, but that's my common theme in recent times... by the time I remember it's a Tuesday or Wednesday and I think I'll just wait til next week to start on Monday :)
ReplyDeleteI know...I can't seem to get the menu plan together every week. I have summer-induced laziness. ;)
DeleteWhat a wonderful weekend you had - and gorgeous photos of your family.
