Friday seems to roll around so quickly. Maybe that's not true for some of you who are just yearning for the work week to pass. I understand. I have been there. I hope the weekend is all you hope it will be.
In looking at my week's worth of cell phone photos, I mainly found pics from last weekend when we went to my parents' place. Here's "the cottage," above, waking from a winter's sleep.
On the way there, my little gal cuddled the doll that she and I had sewed in her class at school earlier in the week. Yes her head looks like a potato, but don't tell that to my girl. She thinks her "Isabella" is beautiful.
Of course, I had to snap a photo of my guy sleeping on his sister's Barbie neck pillow.
My favourite part of the trip to the cottage is turning down the road that leads to the lake.
I found this picture on my husband's phone. He and my dad had just installed the new back steps that my dad built and my dad took a well-deserved nap. He tries to do all of the things he used to do, and sometimes it's just a bit much for him.
I also found some pictures of turtles that the family discovered on a walk through a local park.
My husband must have snapped this picture on his trip to Niagara Falls with his students yesterday. I'm afraid the name of this sushi place doesn't translate so well into English.
How was your week? Any big plans for the weekend?
Oh, and Happy Mother's Day to you moms! I hope you get spoiled this weekend.

Some great photos, and great memories for you! Your son will NOT let you live it down that you took that 'Barbie' photo of him ;) I hope he's a good sport about it! I think it's great that you and your daughter sewed the beautiful Isabella together ... your daughter must be proud of her skills. Let's hope the rain and cold move aside for the weekend, I have some yard work to do! Enjoy your weekend :) Wendy
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't know that it's on the blog. ;) I think I won't bother mentioning it. My daughter IS proud of her sewing skills. She wants to do more projects. :)
DeleteI know, the rain sucks. I want another nice weekend! Have a good one Wendy. :)
Oh my goodness the road to the lake is BEAUTIFUl!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's always a good feeling, heading into the country. :)
DeleteHow sweet that you went to help at the cottage! Love that photo of your Dad. I miss mine so much! The doll made me laugh when you said her head looks like a potato! It's very sweet just the same and so nice to do something like that together! Oh, you can blackmail your son with that photo when he is a teenager. You just stash that away for that special time when you really want him to do something! he he! Happy Mother's Day! xx
ReplyDeleteI can imagine how much you miss your dad, Karen. We cherish these days with our parents.
DeleteYes, we had fun making the doll together. :)
I like your blackmail idea. My mom had a photo of me standing in our front yard with no bottoms on, and I used to dread that photo. This one's not quite that bad. ;)
What beautiful pics! And a most happy mother's day to you!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Taby! I hope you get everything you want. :)
DeleteHandmade is always beautiful - just keep reminding yourself of that when you look at potatohe...er, Isabella. :D
