Neutral Hues

Last week, I told you how I found a vintage sewing basket while shopping for thrifty kids' clothing. I also found these assorted small treasures.

I'm a bit of a sucker for items that are displayed nicely. The clever thrift store employees arranged shelves of neutral-toned items that all worked in harmony with one another. I picked some lovely pieces from these shelves.

This larger vase was the most expensive piece, at $2.99. The others were from 99 cents to $1.99 each. I love the blue finger indentations on the vase. It helps it to tie in nicely with the next piece:

I wasn't sure what I would do with this set of maracas, but they are so pretty I couldn't help myself.

For the moment, I haven't decided where to display these pieces, so I have accumulated a jumble of stuff on top of the bookcase in my family room.

Did you find any treasures this week?

  1. I love that little pottery creamer, such pretty hues of blue ... I have a lot of pottery in my house, and feel so lucky to find a nice piece at the thrift store. Wendy

  2. There is something so serene & contemplative about pottery in neutral shades-- just lovely! We haven't been thrifting for housewares in a while...hmmm...maybe we'll be able to squeeze some in next week!

  3. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I would have grabbed every single piece you did. All of those beautiful, rich pieces for pennies... :)

  4. I am such a sucker for pottery...I love it ALL, but the two ivory pieces are my faves, I think. And your "jumble" looks very artful! I would leave it just as it is. :)
