Insta-Friday I'm In Love

Have I told you lately that I love you? Make fun of me if you want (mom), but you guys are awesome. I started this blog to help me appreciate the beauty in each and every day. Even if sometimes I'm grumpy...really grumpy.  I need reminders of how great life is even more on those days.

I wasn't sure anyone would ever actually read my musings. But I'm happy to say I have almost 400 GFC followers now, over 100 Bloglovin' followers and about 16,000 page views a month. I'm no celebrity, sure, but it's kinda cool that people take the time out of their busy schedules to visit my blog. So thanks. A lot.

Here's my Friday look at the past couple of weeks using only cell phone photos, starting with my son getting his hair cut. Doesn't he look thrilled?

The hair cut came just in time for soccer season. Yep, I guess this makes me a soccer mom. Who would have thought it? I figured my kids might be like me. I once had a teacher who stopped a volleyball game in progress and had everyone sit down but me so he could ream me out for avoiding the ball. Hey, volleyball isn't for everyone, genius.

Anyway, luckily the kids take after their father. My son has been attending soccer practice indoors all winter, but now the games are starting...in the dome of course.

We are still (or more like suddenly) dealing with winter weather. You can go now, snow.

Last night, the kids went skiiing with their dad. I was home watching TV. Hey, I also did some cooking, dishes and laundry.

It was my daughter's first time skiing and they took a couple of videos for me to see. She was slow at first, but she was whizzing down the hill later on. My husband said she actually went down once with arms outspread.

This weekend is all about basketball. My butt is going to be back in the bleachers while I watch my son's team in a mini tournament.

How about you? Any big plans for the weekend?

    1. Aw, thanks!

My husband took that pic while driving to get takeout food. Not generally a good idea to take pics while driving on snowy roads. ;)

  3. Joann: rather than "make fun", I'm glad you appreciate life as it happens. At my age you wish you (meaning me)had been more aware of the positive aspects of life as they passed by. Love Mom

  5. I love that your mom comments (my mom does the same thing). You have a fantastic blog and it is always so much fun to read (and such varied topics).
Your son, although not thrilled about the cut, looks super handsome. Good to know that got some skiing in (I am WAY to chicken to ever give that try, I always envision myself heading right for a tree).
I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your family. I don't know what we have going on...probably a little shopping for spring time clothing (that is just around the corner) and I know there is a birthday party to attend..other than that probably some relaxing and I am sure a good deal of baking.

    Have a good one Jo!

    1. Yes, I can count on my mom to read my blog every day. :)

Thanks for your very kind compliments about my blog, and about my son. He is a cutie for sure.

I'm glad you are chicken about skiing too. Makes me feel better. I am afraid of trees too. The one time I went in high school, I took my skis off on one particular hill and walked down because there was a forest at the side of the hill.

Have fun shopping, relaxing and baking! Jo :)

  6. Very sweet photos of your children. I recognize that expression on your son's face getting his hair cut (Geez, Mom!) from when my boys were young. I also remember all those bleachers I sat in for hours and hours. You're a good Mom! Congrats on all your reader's. Your blog is so sweet. xx

  10. Yours is my favorite-est blog! Partially because of the "no photos please" faces your son makes. Children enjoying skiing is the perfect excuse to drink hot beverages in the peace & quiet, in my opinion. We are in between sporting seasons at the moment, so I shall be cheering your kiddos on until cross country & soccer are back for mine!

    1. Aw thanks Tabetha. You're so sweet. I love your blog too. And thanks for encouraging me to sit and drink tea while the children are out with their dad. ;) I can't wait until it's time for outdoor sports and warm days. :)

  11. Your blog is one that I'm always happy to see a new post :) Your 'everyday' happenings are so fun to read and I can relate to so many things you say (and I even understand your aversion to winter ... now). And volleyball? I couldn't even get the ball TO the net when we first had it in gym. I did figure it out though (and so did my friend and we were secretly thrilled that we had become 'athletes'!!). Your gym teacher left you with some wonderful memories :[ Have a great weekend ... looks like there may be more winter fun for us ... your daughter learned to ski just in time ;) Wendy

    1. Thank you. That makes me so happy that you enjoy my posts. You got the ball to the net? I don't think I ever touched the ball unless it hit me by accident. Yes, some teachers are wonderful, others not so much. Have a fantastic weekend too! No snow here so far today, thank goodness. Jo

  12. Very happy to have befriended you via the blogsphere (you're a cool chick!)
Love the pics of the kids :). I'd be happy to trade places for a few days and know what it's like to play in the snow.

    1. I do Jill. I notice it more on Bloglovin' (where people are anonymous). I comfort myself with the notion that maybe they cancelled their account completely. ;) I'm sure they did not get tired of you. :)
