I haven't done an Insta-Friday post for a bit, so I'm playing catching up this week, sharing cell phone pics from a couple of weeks.
Winter decided to make her presence known recently. Boo.
The kids and their dad have been making the best of it. They love going skating.
Skiing and snowboarding too. I went skiing once - in high school.
Fortunately they have their father to take them.
I have trouble just getting out of the house in winter. Here I am all wrapped up, warming up my poor car while enjoying a cup of tea. My car doesn't like winter either. The noises it makes!
I like to stay indoors and bake...and eat.
You know who else isn't a big fan of winter? Jolene the beagle mix. She especially dislikes it when you leave her outdoors accumulating snow on her head.
Me and the mini-me do make it out to watch her brother's basketball games. She insisted on finding matching pants on the particular day shown. She also stole my pink bag and carried an identical travel mug.
Apropos of nothing, I found this picture of The Mystery Machine on my husband's cell phone. Just thought it was cool that Hot Wheels has stuff like this too.
How was your week? Do you live in a warm climate, and, if so, what excuse do you use to not exercise? I always imagine that you California types must have unlimited energy.
Have a great weekend!

OMG I saw that exact same Mystery Machine in an antiquea/collectables store the other day, for about $50! I was so tempted before I saw the price :P There you are freezing and today we were hanging out in front of our air con :)
ReplyDeleteFunny, my son just got this Mystery Machine brand new. I wonder, did they just start producing them again? I don't pay much attention because my son isn't often interested in Hot Wheels anymore.
DeleteAir conditioner huh? Well, I don't like too hot either. That's another excuse to stay inside. ;) Jo
THE MYSTERY MACHINE!!! I loved scooby doo--
ReplyDeleteI also approach the winter weather as you do-- to be looked at through a window, preferably next to a lovely fire, with warm cup of something-or-other. The Things are all snow bunnies-- skiers, snowboarders, sledders-- I hear all about it when they get home~*
Oh, Tabetha. That makes me feel so much better. There's always a bit of guilt when they head out without me. ;)
DeleteI want to be in that snowy scene!!!! A winter wonderland :)
ReplyDeleteYou can have it!
DeleteJust kidding, it's pretty and I think it makes me appreciate spring more. But, winter could me much shorter in my opinion! ;) Jo
I'm with you on the snow! I'm not a fan...unless I'm inside snuggly warm and can enjoy it from the window. :) My boys have that hotwheels mystery machine too!
ReplyDeleteHere's to snuggling up with a warm beverage and letting others freeze their butts off! ;)
DeleteThis cajun girl is jealous of the snow. I could probably only take it in small doses though. :)
ReplyDeleteStopping by from InstaFriday.
That's really the key Lissa - small doses! ;) Thanks for visiting! Jo
DeleteI am so sick of winter - come Sunday we will be in Florida - can't wait to feel that warm sunshine...
ReplyDeleteYou lucky girl! :)
DeleteI love this recipe and will definitely try it! I'm your newest follower! Would love for you to come visit!

Thanks! I will drop by for sure. :)
DeleteI'm not liking the way this last snow has turned icy. I once worked at a ski hill, and one of the guys there taught me how to ski well enough to get to the bottom. I then went exactly one time with my husband and friends, but they rushed me onto HUGE hills where I was terrified. Now I force my son to go snowboarding, but he loves it. Living my life over through my kids :) Wendy
ReplyDeletePS Poor Jolene ... my dog LOVES snow and just wants to play, play, play
That's the trouble too. If you want to hit the baby hills and nobody will stay with you. ;) Jolene is a big suck. She doesn't do snow. ;)
DeletePoor Jolene! My pug hates the snow too, but my shepherd mix loves it. She'd sit out there all day in it if I let her. Pug hugs the edge of the house lest he put his precious paws in the white stuff!
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny Andrea. Dogs can be hilarious. :)
DeleteI'm with you; I don't like being cold either, but I do love the snow! We have lots of it here (Utah). Layers save me. And like you, I've only been skiing once...steep slopes, cold, high lifts... I keep thinking I should brave it again. Stay warm, and keep cooking! Looks delicious! Lynaea @ EverydayBloom.com
ReplyDeleteThe snow is lovely, as long as you don't have to drive through it. ;) I have thought about braving skiing again, but I'm not sure. Maybe a very tiny hill. Thanks Lynaea. :)
DeleteI like winter for the coziness -- I guess I like the idea of winter. I love that picture of you in the car with your tea! Smart lady!
