We have been enjoying a lovely weekend with family, including my niece, Maple, above. This big, beautiful gal is the chillest dog I have ever seen.
On Friday, the kids were home for a PA Day and we did our first Christmas crafts. We used new stamps along with vintage stamps I found in my mom`s basement. More about that tomorrow.
On Saturday, we attended a family event. My son is on the left, then my eldest nephew, my niece and my youngest nephews (twins). My ingenious sister-in-law outfitted her eldest boy in my father-in-law`s wedding night suit, updated with a new green shirt.
Back at my sister-in-law`s place, we enjoyed some delicious food (antipasto, soup, lasagna, breaded tofu, cake), along with chestnuts roasted on the wood stove. I don`t actually like the taste of chestnuts (le castagne in Italian), but I love the idea!
Now it`s time to clean the house! I hope you are enjoying the weekend. See ya tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteOh - it looks like you had a wonderful weekend with family. Loving the photos of the children all dressed up! We've had a crazy amount of rain here in SW England - lots of floods but now snow! The novelty here of snow is wonderful as we get it so rarely but about 4 days is enough in England as nothing functions as we're just not used to it!! Enjoy, J9 x p.s. I'll refind that recipe I've added to my stash - it was from a healthy snack blog post you did a while ago!! Thanks! x
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds so cozy! I love the first snowfall. We're still waiting for ours!
ReplyDeleteIs Maple a mastiff? She is stunning. I spent a good chunk of the holiday weekend trying to convince my parents to adopt a mastiff that I spotted in a nearby rescue, but sadly, no luck.
ReplyDeleteHi Heather! Yes, Maple is an English Mastiff. She is so mild-tempered. They had a Bull Mastiff before...he was sweet, but not quite as easygoing. Too bad you couldn't convince your parents. It's so great when rescue dogs find a happy home. But, it is a big commitment.
DeleteThey lost their English bulldog a few months ago and I think their hearts are just set on getting another one. They always adopt through rescue, though, so there's that. :) All the mastiff's I've know have been gentle giants--I just love them!
DeleteOh, it's so hard when you lose a pet. They may not be ready for another yet. That's wonderful that they give dogs a second chance. :) The mastiffs are great. Not sure I want a dog who can reach the table without trying, though. Maple doesn't steal food, but I bet my dog would! I'm not much of a trainer. ;)
DeleteI always want to go to your sister in law's house!
