Happy Friday!
For those with little ones who returned to school this week, I hope everything went well. And to my teacher friends, I hope you are not too traumatized.
I am once again sharing cell phone photos from the past week. I don’t have many. I will have more in the future, since I finally ordered my own cell phone, so I don’t have to use my husband’s anymore.
My phone arrived today…and left again. Why is it that the courier ALWAYS comes during the one hour you leave the house? Does this happen to you too?
We enjoyed a busy last week of vacation, ending it with a visit to Canada’s Wonderland last Friday. It was so hot that I felt sick by the end of the day. We caught a cirque-style show in the air conditioned theatre. That was nice. I didn’t actually care what the show was about, as long as it was cool and I could sit down.
We also hit the wave pool for a bit. It was actually freezing. Not sure how that was possible on one of the hottest days of the year. Don’t you love it when little kids splash you while you’re still dry?
We also saw a movie in the local park one night (on a large inflatable screen). It’s a great idea for families, and we saw lots of parents with babies. No babysitter required, and the kids can wander when they get bored. Perfect.
We had seen the movie, Big Miracle, before, but that didn’t matter to the kids. I really could have done without the second look at seeing the characters chop ice for extended periods of time, but what the heck. That’s what parents do…sacrifice.
I was worried about how the kids would react to having to go back to school, so I took them each shopping (separately) for back-to-school supplies. I think that having new, colourful stuff helps to motivate them. With the kids back at school, I have been unusually energized. I am organizing, cleaning, writing and, of course, baking.
How was your week?
I can't imagine having no cell phone! I know that's kind of sad but it's my prized possession. Looks like you guys had a good week, enjoy your weekend too!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine it's easy to get hooked on it.
DeleteI always love watching your pics, Joann - they're so warm, cozy and make me wanna have kids;-)))
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should give you a balanced look. I will photograph a temper tantrum next time. ;) Seriously though, thanks for your kind comment.
DeleteLooks like you had a good week, except for feeling sick at Wonderland. I guess now I'm the last person without a cell phone now that you got one! I keep thinking I should have one but never get around to it. If I didn't have my little camera to carry around I'd probably get onto cellphone buying! Wishing you a great weekend!

Yes, the handy little camera is my favourite part of the phone.
DeleteCongratulations on getting your own cell phone. I actually am not a big fan of cell phones. I have one but rarely use it so I have the cheapest plan I could get. I still have my land line phone and prefer it that way. Many people today no longer have a land line. If having a cell phone with you in case of emergency while you are out was not a good idea then I would not have a cell phone at all. I find that many people with cell phones are addicted to it. Cell phone etiquette is mostly not practiced at all either.
ReplyDeleteYes, I actually have had cell phones before, but they were pay-as-you-go and I rarely used them. I prefer the land line, because I don't want to radiate my head if I don't need to. ;)
DeleteI have the same bad luck with the postman.
ReplyDeleteI hope the kids enjoy their 2nd week of school. Have a great one, Jo!
Thanks Julee. You too!
DeleteGreat pictures! The last one looks so yummy. I always seem to miss the postman too.. Idk how that happens!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mandy! So it's not just me who misses the post every time! :)
