Having spent most of the weekend on a (cold, rainy) soccer field for my son’s tournament, I didn’t get any time for thrift store shopping. I even missed the neighbourhood garage sale!
So, today I want to share a look at some more items from my (large) collection of dishes. All of these unique items were given to me by my parents.
There’s something about the combination of blue and white (or blue and cream), isn’t there? So peaceful, calming and pretty, it lends a dressy look to any table.
I really like this apple dish.
I think my favourite is this silver shell with a blue dish inside.
How about you? Do you have blue dishes in your collection?

Beautiful peices & yes blues & creams are just always perfect. I don't have a lot of blue, did thrift a simple set of blue floral glasses recently (on blog post today). Too bad you didn't have your moment of thrifting... or even garage sale shopping, complete bummer! You will have to add an extra trip this week to make up for it.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your floral glasses! Probably not a bad thing that I missed one thrifting session. I am getting out of control! But yes, I will add a trip. ;)
DeleteJust gorgeous! I couldn't agree more about blue & white-- its so serene~*
ReplyDeleteThanks Tabetha!
Deleteso royally blue! these are treasures :) i love that they are from your parents :) the love continues :)
ReplyDeleteMy mom tells me that some of these were actually her mother's. Once she figures out how to comment here, she will tell us more! ;)
DeleteGreat pieces. I have none but I am visiting my cousin right now and her entire house is filled with that blue and white china. Even the dog bowl :) Jealous, it's so pretty.
ReplyDeleteEven the dog bowl? That's funny. Must be lovely. :)
Deletegorgeous pieces!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteYour pieces are gorgeous! My favorite is your butter dish!

Besos, desde EspaƱa, Marcela♥
Thanks Marcela!
DeleteI think I like the shell dish best too -- so unique with the blue glass inside! And the little pitchers with the windmill -- I love anything Holland Delft Blue! You are blessed to have these remembrances.
ReplyDeleteThat's so true, Sarah! :)
DeleteThis set is adorable. I hope next weekend affords you some time to hit the sales.
ReplyDeleteI bet you I will make some time this week! :) Hopefully some garage sales.
DeleteThese are adorable! I have always had a little knack for home decor type things. I love all the different shades of blue and find them all relaxing. Those salt shakers are the best! I have a friend who has a salt shaker collection and it is the bomb.com.
ReplyDeleteI have always liked home decor things too! When I was a teen I collected little sculptures and masks. A salt shaker collection sounds like fun!
DeleteYour Blue Willow pieces are just stunning! I also really love the cream and sugar (?) set with the blue glass interiors and the silver on the outside. Sorry...I didn't describe those well but they're lovely! Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteHi Heather, To be honest I wasn't sure what some of the dishes are for. I think you are right that the glass ones are for cream and sugar. I mean one has a spout, right? But I guess we don't have to be limited to what they are intended for. I would love to put some candy in a dish, but my kids would eat it all right away! ;) Apparently my uncle got the glass/silver dishes when he was working on a ship in the 1960s.
DeleteJust lovely, all of it! The cream and sugar set are fantastic! Thanks for joining us at cap creations.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
Deletei featured you! :) have a great weekend!
