“Each today, well-lived, makes yesterday a dream of happiness and each tomorrow a vision of hope. Look, therefore, to this one day, for it and it alone is life.”
—Sanskrit poem
In other words, break out the good china today, whether it is a “special occasion” or not. Take this opportunity to celebrate the gift of an ordinary day.
Or, in my case, buy some more china, just because it is lovely and definitely not because I need it.
I visited Value Village recently, and came away with these beautiful Johnson Brothers dishes, because I simply couldn’t resist the pretty pink flowers.
I am faced with a new challenge, having just re-worked my china cabinet last week to accommodate the other dishes I recently salvaged from the basement.
I also found this interesting heart-shaped mirror for my daughter’s room.
I think the little Cupids are so sweet.
I also found this sign for my daughter’s bedroom. I knew she would like it. She wants to put it on the door as a message to her older brother.
How about you? Any special finds this week? Or, any plans to celebrate on this lovely, ordinary day?

ReplyDeleteI'm finding it becomes an addiction!
DeleteIsn't it fun? And cost effective~* You definitely get treasure hunter of the month though-- too cute!
ReplyDeleteIt is fun indeed. Treasure hunter of the month? I'll take it! :)
DeleteThank you for sharing at Cap Creations this week. I am loving the heart mirror. The detail in it is great!
ReplyDeleteNice to join you all again!
DeleteLove the mirror - we would have been fighting over that one ;D
ReplyDeleteYour china is looking so pretty - a beautiful tea party must be planned soon ;)
I don't get into my VV finds at all on my blog - but I so should. My husband certainly doesn't appreciate my finds so someone on my blog might ;D LOL
You are so right - that china calls for a tea party! You should definitely share your finds. Husbands are not a good audience for shopping treasures.
DeleteAnd the Boys Drool sign is too funny!
ReplyDeleteNot the nicest sentiment, but my daughter likes it. ;)
DeleteI've only recently heard about all of this amazing Johnson Brothers dish ware. Now I'm obsessed with finding some of it which is probably unlikely here in Kentucky. I am actually going on my first thrifting outing in more than 2 months tomorrow. I am SOOO exited!!
ReplyDeleteOur regular set of dishes growing up was Johnson Brothers Friendly Village, so I am quite used to them. Interesting that they are harder to find in your area. I am so happy that you are well enough to take a thrifting trip now. I hope you share any finds!
DeleteWow, fantastic finds! Your blog looks great too!
ReplyDeleteThese finds are too cute :D
ReplyDeleteEverything looks spectacular!
Cheers
