I bought these sweet little blue bowls last time I was at the thrift store. (If you remember last week, I was clearly in a blue mood.) We have plenty of larger bowls in the house, but when I saw these bowls, miso soup immediately popped into my head.
We sometimes make miso soup here at home and it sometimes comes along with our takeout sushi. Either way, I find a small bowl usually suffices, because we are often eating lots of other foods with the miso soup.
My daughter pointed out that these little bowls would also make great ice cream dishes. (She has her mom's sweet tooth!) When I was a kid, we used giant soup bowls for our ice cream, but I've toned things down a bit since then.
I also got this wire bowl for a buck. I'll probably use it for fruit. Not creative, I know. What would you use it for my very creative friends?

ReplyDeleteOf course you are. You were raised with big soup bowls of ice cream too. Ha ha. ;)
DeleteHaven't we all toned down our ice cream bowls? Hah!!!
ReplyDeletea while ago i read an article about using smaller dishes to help portion control and curb over indulging (i am raising my hand as an admitted over indulger on the salty snacks, lol). as pretty as they are your little bowls would be perfect for portion controlled snacks like nuts or fruit set out through the day.
ReplyDeleteHey there--thanks for hosting, Joann :)
ReplyDeleteI'd probably use it to corral potatoes or onions since the ones here are constantly trying to roll away!
ReplyDeleteLove the little bowls and the pictures are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe little bowls are so sweet! I like the wire bowl and would put fruit in it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Hugs, Dianne
now some of us still use cereal bowls for ice cream!! HA! I love those little bowls I use them for fruit, pudding and meal prep too! I don't have any metal bowls like that, I think fruits a great use because air can flow through it.
